I just thought I'd have a look at the Partouche Poker Tour on Eurosport tonight. Unfortunately I lasted about 5 minutes. There was an all in and a call; the traditional pair v AK. What really annoyed me was the length of time it took the dealer to deal the cards. Even the commentator noticed this. 30 seconds at least elapsed before the dealer dealt. Then there was a 15 second gap between the flop and 4th, then 4th and the river. This was suposed to heighten tension. It doesn't. What it does is heighten the boredom.

Look you fu**ing morons in tv production land, the game of poker is fine. You don't need all ins every minute and you don't need ridiculous passages of time for the dealer to actually get around to doing something that should take 10 seconds. If this is the future of tv poker, f**k it, I'm not bothering. I'm going back to watching the porn channels instead. You don't need to mess with the game. Get some advice on what poker players want. There's a pretty good chance that's what the public will want too, because the public plays poker. All sorts, all races, all creeds, all colours. All drawn together for their love of poker. Just find some normal human beings to tell you how to broadcast the game without fu**ing it up and making it so unpallatable and boring no one wants to watch.

It could be worse, they could actually stop the tournament when it gets to the final table and wait for 4 months.... oh.... wait......

That looks like it might be ok. But the question is, will it be good enough for me to stop playing poker to watch it?
